The State of Côte d'Ivoire, through its General Directorate of Treasury and Public Accounting, raised on December 22, 2020 an amount of 111 billion FCFA (166.500 million euros) on the financial market of the Ivory Coast. West African Monetary Union (UMOA) at the end of its simultaneous issuance by auction of assimilable treasury bills (BAT) with maturities of 364 days and 91 days.

The total amount that had been auctioned was 105 billion FCFA.

At the end of the issue, the UMOA-Titres agency listed 115.509 billion FCFA in overall bids made by investors, ie a coverage rate of the amount put up for auction of 106.20%.



Of the amount of the bids, the Ivorian public treasury withheld 111 billion FCFA and rejected the remaining 5090 million FCFA, ie an absorption rate of 99.54%.

These resources are intended to cover the financing needs of the State budget of Côte d'Ivoire.

The weighted average rate and the marginal rate are respectively 4.34% and 4.40% for BAT with a maturity of 364 days. On the other hand, they are respectively for the BAT at 91 days at 2.94% and 3.05%.

As for the weighted average yield, it stood at 4.54% for BAT at 364 days and 2.97% for BAT at 91 days of maturity.



The redemption of the warrants issued will take place on the first working day following the due date set at December 15, 2021 for 364-day BAT and March 23, 2021 for 91-day BAT. Interest is payable in advance and deducted from the nominal value of the bonds, which is one million FCFA.
