The Council of Ministers of the West African Monetary Union (Umoa) approved the accounts of the West African Development Bank (Boad) for the year ended 31 December 2022. The institution's key figures are on the rise, reflecting the continued consolidation of its performances.

Net banking income, up 8.66%, increased to 93.051 billion FCFA compared to 85.638 billion FCFA, for the 2021 financial year. According to a press release, “Boad recorded a net profit of 33.682 billion FCFA, against 30.824 billion FCFA, at the end of 2021, an increase of 9.27%. The profit thus generated will strengthen the institution's own funds. The total balance sheet stood at 3,362.279 billion FCFA compared to 3,291.286 billion FCFA, at the end of the previous year. The Bank was able to maintain a balanced financial structure throughout the year, in particular, with effective capital amounting to 1,063.256 billion CFA francs and representing 31.62% of the total balance sheet.”
