The Vice President of the Republic, José Gabriel Carrizo, highlighted the measures taken by Panama in the fight against money laundering. It was during the ^3rd Summit of Heads of State and Government between the European Union (EU) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in Brussels, Belgium

Panama would have completed the 15 actions established jointly with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), according to information from the Vice President of the Republic. He also indicated that the country is ready to receive an “in situ” visit from the Joint Group of the Americas. According to José Gabriel Carrizo, the visit of these Gafi officials is scheduled for early September and according to the Panamanian authorities the country should be removed from the international organization's gray list
