The inspectors general from various ministries and institutions of the Republic met on 24 and 25 June in Grand-Popo. The meeting focused on improving the provisions of the manual developed in 2020 with a view to harmonizing practices at the level of state structures that handle public funds.

Under the aegis of the Public Finance Reforms Management Unit at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Inspectors General have improved, in the light of their experiences, the content of the model manual, which is intended to be a tool for the traceability of public resources and spending wherever public money is manipulated. Among others, the Inspector General of Finance, the Inspector General of Public Services and Employment, representatives of the General Inspectorate of Judicial Services and the Ministry in charge of Development responded to the call. They were divided into three working groups. The first group is responsible for the preparation of budget and accountability documents, while the second group is responsible for planning and public procurement documents. The third and final group worked on budget implementation, materials management, accounting procedures, clearance and handling of irregularities.
