- The Beninese government adopted wednesday in the Council of Ministers a
national employment policy by 2025, according to a statement published Wednesday evening in Cotonou.
"This national policy document revolves around the vision that by 2025, most Beninese
of working age will have a job that can provide them with an income that satisfies
their vital needs and integral well-being," the statement said
Its overall objective, explains the same source, is to halve, by then, the rate of underemployment of the
active population as well as that of unemployment, estimated at 2.3%.
To do this, this document aims, in addition to promoting quality general governance, to
the achievement of specific objectives: improving the employability of graduates at the end of the system
education, the reduction of underemployment and long labour market governance, among others.
