Jean-Claude Kassi Brou, the new governor of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), was sworn in on Friday in Dakar.

Originally from Côte d'Ivoire, Jean-Claude Kassi Broua is the new governor of the BCEAO. He was sworn in before the President of the Council of Ministers of the West African Economic and Monetary Union, Sani Yaya, Togolese Minister of Economy and Finance. The ceremony took place at the institution's headquarters in Dakar, in the presence of Tiemoko Meyliet Koné, outgoing governor, members of the Council of Ministers and vice-governors. Economist, Jean-Claude Kassi Brou is a former minister and former BCEAO official. This swearing-in also marks the assumption of office by the former president of the ECOWAS Commission.
