The Regional Agency of the Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea (BCRG) of Mamou was inaugurated on Monday, March 1, 2021.

It was on the occasion of the celebration of the 61st anniversary of the creation of the Guinean currency. The government's objective remains to stay the course to make Guinea's financial sector a tool for the country's economic and social development. The Minister of Sports, Sanoussy Bantama Sow, representing the Head of State, welcomed  " the opening of this agency which augurs a bright economic future for our city. I urge the people of Mamou to watch over this jewel," he added.

The architect of the work, Alpha Oumar Diallo, clarifies the description of the work "The work built on an area of 4,232.57 square meters includes a main building R + 1 and vaults in the basement R-1 and R-2. Banking services on the ground floor. The administration, the archives, the meeting room, the video surveillance room, the compensation room, the multipurpose and computer room on the 1st floor. In addition to the main building, there are annexes and outbuildings including the residence of the head of agency, roads and exterior development".

It should be noted that the construction work of this regional agency was launched on February 27, 2017 for a contractual period of 12 months. But following the discovery of a cave in the right-of-way of the main building, the project of an R-1 building changed to an R-2 basement giving rise to an extension of the vault to double its storage capacity.

The Honourable Fatou Biro Diallo, single-member deputy of Mamou, in his intervention, asked the governor of the BCRG, in the recruitment of staff, to think about the youth of Mamou.
