"Speaking of gas cylinders, the government will have to identify a quick solution to the closure of the Gabès industrial zone. And this after the considerable regression of the filling rate of domestic gas cylinders. This could threaten to trigger a crisis." This was announced Saturday by the president of the National Trade Union Chamber of Domestic Gas Cylinder Distributors, Mohamed Mnif.

On this aspect, Mr. Mnif added that the industrial zone of Gabès produces 90 thousand units per day. That's half of the daily national production of domestic gas cylinders. Note that this unit is closed for 8 days. And this is because of the demonstrations.

For the manager, the other industrial zones of Tunis and Bizerte cannot, on their own, cover the demand. Mnif also stressed the need to find a solution to the closure of the Gabès industrial zone. He considered that it is more vital for national security than the "Kamour". Especially since it provides a basic necessity for vulnerable groups.

As a reminder, in Tunisia, the State sets the price of domestic gas cylinders. And this since it is a strategic product for a wide category of people who are not yet connected to the natural gas network. It should also be noted that the demand for this product increases especially during the winter season.
