This strategy has just taken a new step forward with The announcement made on Monday, February 16 by the Japanese manufacturer Nissan Motor Corporation. The group has formalized the launch in Egypt of a new automotive production line, with an additional capacity of 10,000 vehicles per year, with a local integration rate greater than 50%.
According to Mohamed Abdel Samad, recently promoted to CEO of Nissan Africa, this extension aims to consolidate the group's presence on the local market while strengthening its export vocation to the rest of the continent. “This new production line will make it possible to manufacture 10,000 additional cars from the first year of its entry into service”, he said during an interview with the Egyptian Minister of Industry, Khaled Hashem.
Already firmly established in Egypt, Nissan has notable commercial performances. The manufacturer sold nearly 25,000 vehicles in Africa over the last three years and aims now to become the largest automotive exporter on the continent.
