In 2020, many companies have seen their insurers both increase prices and reduce coverage. During the AMRAE Risk Management Meetings, the experts proposed a few strategies adapted to periods of crisis.

During the exchanges placed on the theme: "What financing of risks by the insurance market, integrating risk management?", the experts insisted on the necessary dialogue with insurers, especially in this period.
According to Frédéric Dhers, CEO of SCOR Europe, "we are not experiencing a crisis but crises. The health crisis, unprecedented, which currently amounts to 70 billion dollars in claims in terms of insurance. An economic crisis, which led to a contraction of more than 8% of GDP in France while the decline was barely 3% in 2009. A climate crisis, too, with natural disasters that impact insurers”.
François Beaume, vice-president of risks and insurance at Sonepar and vice-president of AMRAE, finds that it is obvious that a good part of the risk financing will remain in-house. “80% of risks are uninsured or uninsurable. And on the remaining 20%, there is a contraction effect because insurers are lowering the limits and, in addition, these limits will cost more,” he suggested.
