Following its general meeting on 23 June, the Professional Association of Credit Institutions of Cameroon (APECCAM) announced the appointment to the post of President Gwendoline Abunaw. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Ecobank Cameroon and Head Cluster CEMAC.

By appointing Gwendoline Abunaw, currently CEO of Ecobank Cameroon and Head Cluster CEMAC as President, APECCAM has chosen a personality with recognized skills in the banking world with more than twenty years of experience in the field of finance acquired within several international financial institutions such as Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank or the Pan-African Ecobank Group.

In order to preserve the continuity of the remarkable activities initiated by her predecessor, the new President of APECCAM will work on various topics such as issues economic and social aspects of the banking industry, support and support for the national economy — in particular through the financing of SMEs — digital transformation, the promotion of financial inclusion and the strengthening of collaborative links with public authorities on modernization and dynamization of the financial sector.
