From September 2 to 3, 2025, was held in Marcory (Abidjan), the Aquaculture Finance Forum. This meeting took place in the aim to promote access to finance in the sector.

The Aquaculture Finance Forum was held around theme “Overview, challenges and opportunities of financing aquaculture”. This The event is co-organized by the Ivorian government, through the ministry of Animal and Fishery Resources, and the United Nations Fund for food (FAO). On occasion, conferences, workshops, B to B exhibitions and meetings.

This forum, which is part of the program Fish4Acp, supported by FAO, aims to meet the strategic priorities of sector. Joseph Nyemah, FAO representative in Côte d'Ivoire, said that “this forum therefore constitutes a mobilizing dialogue between producers, investors, financial institutions, researchers, public actors and technical partners. It is an opportunity to discover the opportunities of financing, to establish strategic partnerships, to present projects bankable to investors and to contribute to the structuring of the sector.”

Lacina Ouattara, Deputy director of aquaculture at the Ministry of Animal Resources and fisheries, stressed for his part that Côte d'Ivoire has a undeniable aquaculture potential, with hydrographic areas with high potential and a strong political will.
