In an interview with the daily Nation, Alphonse Ibi Kouagou, administrator of the World Bank lifts a corner of the veil on the activities of the institution.

"We must give priority to the solutions provided by the private sector", indicated Alphonse Ibi Kouagou, stressing that the institution is working to help the authorities of the countries to identify and seize the opportunities for assistance offered.

“My 2020-2022 strategy can be summed up in four priority areas broken down into 13 objectives which will constitute my breviary during my mandate. First, my Office is committed to strengthening its liaison role between the World Bank Group and each of the countries it represents, with a view to accelerating development goals. This collaboration will focus on key issues such as the digital economy, human capital, energy and agriculture, with a particular focus on fragile states,” he explained in his interview.

According to him, the World Bank Group has mobilized significant resources to support our countries in health responses and dialogue continues with States to support post-Covid recovery.
