Afrikamart raises $850,000 from the Smart Africa block. In a press release, company officials say the funding will allow the company to continue developing its model and accelerate its growth in Senegal.

The leader in agritech in West Africa announced through a press release, the raising of a seed fund of 850 thousand dollars Usd from the block Smart Africa, a fund managed by Bamboo capital partners, Orange Ventures, Launch Africa and Teranga Capital.

"In Senegal, losses can reach 50% of the harvest throughout the chain, from the producer to the final retailer. In addition, farmers face long payment delays from intermediaries, with little transparency on final sales prices. Afrikamart responds to these challenges by digitizing the entire process, thereby reducing losses by a factor of five and securing the income of farmers and retailers," the document notes.
