Standard & Poor's credit rating agency (S&P) raised the rating of the Egyptian economy by “ B-” to “ B” For the first times in 7 years, describing a stable outlook in its latest report published on Friday 10 October. Likewise, the Fitch rating agency — relating to the evaluation of solvency and credit risk —, maintained the rating “ B” for Egypt, raised last year, with a stable outlook.

“ These two reports reflect the awareness by international rating agencies of the seriousness and positive impact of reform measures taken by the treasurer Egyptian, so That the government's commitment to continue implementing the program national comprehensive economic reform”, explained the minister of Finance: Ahmed Kouchouk in a statement from the ministry published on Saturday 11 October.

Both agencies noted that Egypt has achieved a surplus primary of 3.6% of GDP in fiscal year 2024/25, with a rate of growth rising to 4.4%, compared to 2.4% the previous year. “ The state is working to address challenges and continue the reforms in a coherent and integrated manner in order to to support the growth and competitiveness of the economy”, assured Kushuk.

According to the statement from the Ministry of Finance, the reforms economic and financial implementation and positive economic results achieved, in particular the flexibility and high responsiveness of the private sector, have attracted the interest and recognition of investors and global markets and international institutions.
