The eighth African Islamic Finance Summit (AIFS) will be held on March 23 in Banjul. The AlHuda Center for Islamic Banking and Economies (CIBE) and the United Arab Emirates are the main organizers of the African Islamic Finance Summit, in collaboration with the Gambian Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment.

The Summit will serve as a platform for African think tanks to discuss innovative financial inclusion strategies that would help further facilitate development in Africa. The summit agenda will include an introduction to Islamic finance from historical development, regulatory challenges and opportunities. It will describe the role of the Islamic financial system in financial inclusion, Shariah governance and compliance framework, and the implementation of the Shariah auditing system to regulate the Islamic financial industry.
