The official opening ceremony of the new office is scheduled for Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Almadies, said a press release sent to APS.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad Amadou Bâ, his counterparts Abdoulaye Daouda Diallo (Finance) and Moussa Baldé (Agriculture), are expected at this ceremony, as well as representatives of technical and financial partners and officials of the IFAD.
According to the press release, through this new office, IFAD intends to get closer "more closely to its member countries and to these beneficiaries", as part of its decentralization strategy.
The new IFAD office will thus cover 7 countries in the sub-region, namely Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Mauritania and Senegal.
