It was held, Thursday, July 18 in Abidjan, the Round Table of Donors for the financing of the Master Plan for the Development of the Corridors of the Ring of Growth in West Africa, CACAO. It was preceded by the meeting of experts and discussions with technical and financial partners and the private sector on July 16 and 17.

This initiative aims at sub-regional development by exploiting the potential and available resources, stimulating growth and encouraging investment in Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana and Togo.

The Abidjan meeting made it possible to collect, from private sector investors as well as financing from international donors, intentions to mobilize 1752 billion FCFA out of a total amount of 20.823 billion FCFA for the realization of projects in the fields of Agriculture, Transport, Infrastructure, Industries, Mines, Energy and Trade. Sectors with high potential for economic growth.

The West African Development Bank has announced its intention to grant 1000 billion FCFA, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency 400 billion FCFA and the private sector 352 billion FCFA in the form of public-private partnership.

The WAGRIC Master Plan is designed to transform the sub-regional economy and spatial structure for the development of economic sectors in inland and coastal areas. The aim is to achieve balanced economic development between the two areas.

Negotiations with technical and financial partners and the private sector should continue to absorb the required funding and formalize the various financing intentions acquired and to come.
