King Mohammed VI of Morocco attended on Monday, October 13 2025 in the province of Nouaceur, at the launch of the construction site of an aeronautical complex dedicated to aircraft engines, from the French group Saffron. According to the local press, the work is budgeted at 3.5 billion Dirhams (about 382 million USD), will see the erection of an assembly plant and Safran engine tests, with a capacity of 350 units per year.

Two adjacent projects are planned: the first, of which the opening is scheduled for the end of 2027, concerns the creation of a factory of maintenance and repair of aircraft engines, for an investment of 200 millions of euros.

This factory, located in Nouaceur, will allow “maintenance of 150 engines per year” and “the creation of 600 direct jobs by 2030", said the Moroccan minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour, quoted by the official agency Moroccan MAP.

The second door on the installation of a final assembly unit for airliner engines LEAP-1A (Leading Edge Aviation Propulsion) type which should be operational by 2028, with an investment of 120 million of euros.
