The Senegalese Ministry of Energy, Petroleum and des Mines, announced on Monday, October 27, the installation of a new cohort of 150 energy managers as part of a program launched in 2024 for rationalize the energy consumption of public buildings. The request for the latter had reached 431.6 GWh that year, a level considered too high by the authorities.

Senegal strengthened the reach of the program of energy managers launched in 2024 with a new cohort of executives specialists responsible for supporting the reduction of electricity consumption in public buildings, and the promotion of a national economic culture of energy. The mission of the energy managers in training will be to monitor the energy uses of their respective entities, to propose optimization measures and to make staff aware of the right practices.
