During the month of November 2021, the cost of bank credit increased in Togo. The information was revealed as part of the results of a survey conducted by the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), on banking conditions made public on January 28, 2022.

The cost of bank credit recorded a significant increase of 7.90% against 7.55% a month earlier. On the other hand, there is a drop in the remuneration of deposits of 5.5% against 5.64% in October 2021. At the level of WAEMU, the survey specifies that the interest rates of debits banks in November 2021 saw a slight increase compared to October. Indeed, excluding charges and taxes, the average borrowing rate stood at 6.23% against 6.21% a month earlier and 6.5% a year earlier.
