The Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, Governor of the AfDB Group for Morocco announced on Monday, December 5, 2022 that Morocco has decided to contribute to the 16th replenishment of the resources of the African Development Fund (AD-16), the concessional window of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB).

At the opening of the fourth and final meeting of the sixteenth replenishment of ADF resources, Fettah mentioned that “this decision reiterates the will and commitment of the Kingdom to African countries in accordance with His Majesty the King's enlightened vision for a cohesive and prosperous Africa & raquo;. She called on development partners to generously increase FAD's resources as part of this 16th replenishment of its resources despite the difficult context.

According to him, “given the particularity of the context and the magnitude of the challenges facing our continent, especially the most vulnerable countries, the Kingdom of Morocco considers that the time has come for African countries to join the efforts of conventional ADF donors to support the countries benefiting from the Fund to accelerate their development and strengthen their resilience to better face the challenges that keep coming”.
