On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Benin and China, Chinese President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with his Beninese counterpart Patrice Talon on Thursday.

Diplomatic relations between China and Benin were resumed half a century ago. Thus, Xi Jinping stresses that since then, the two countries have always treated each other in a sincere and friendly manner and firmly support each other on issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns. According to him, the development of bilateral relations is experiencing strong momentum, with fruitful cooperation results in various fields that have brought tangible benefits to their people.

Patrice Talon, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation between the two countries since the resumption of diplomatic relations 50 years ago. He assured that he was willing to work with President Xi to build a dynamic and stronger bilateral relationship, and expressed confidence that the unbreakable cooperation between Benin and China would certainly achieve greater results.
