A figure that puts it ahead of Guinea-Bissau and Niger.
Transactions established within the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) reported 156.12 billion CFA francs from January to the end of June 2019, while the second quarter of the year recorded 143, 58 billion CFA francs.
According to the information, Togo, with 3.06% in terms of electronic money issuances, rises ahead of Guinea-Bissau and Niger which respectively have 0.99% 0.54% of issues within the WAEMU area.
Other member countries of the Union, notably Benin, are left with 3.07% and 3.95% for Senegal.
Burkina Faso also managed with 11.66% of transactions, alongside Mali, which accounted for 15.14% of issuances.
Thus, Côte d'Ivoire took the first place with 61% of issues, noted the BCEAO.
