At the end of the work, the President of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum, was appointed by his peers to head the community organization for subregional economic cooperation.
The outgoing President of the organization's Conference of Heads of State and Government, Alassane Ouattara presented at the opening of the meeting “the situation of the union, discussed the challenges to be met in our community space and announced several decisions. In particular, the appointment of the President of Niger as the new current president of UEMOA”. This is what the Twitter account of the Presidency of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire reveals.
For his part, the president of the West African Development Bank (BOAD), Serge Ekué, reports on his Twitter account that this 23rd ordinary session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government focused on the activities of the various institutions in the community space, namely issues related to the convergence of the economies, the common market and sectoral policies.
