The objective is to examine the national framework for combating money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
The visit to the country of honest men aims to assess the national system for combating money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, in order to allow Burkina Faso to leave the FATF gray list. The co-chair of the FATF Joint Africa Group, Yonesha Sahye, underlined that this visit is an opportunity for the Burkinabe authorities to highlight the significant progress made since the adoption of their action plan. The authorities have demonstrated their commitment to the protection of the national economy, cooperation with the international community, as well as the effective fight against illicit financial flows.
