This meeting was organized on Wednesday 23 July 2025 around policies and laws aimed at promoting cooperation in agriculture, trade and investment.
The round table was an opportunity for Malick Ndiaye, President of the National Assembly of Senegal, to highlight the potential of a strengthened partnership between the two nations. He emphasized the deep ties uniting the two countries, despite the geographical distance. He said: “Our two nations are united by invisible but powerful ties, woven by history, memory and shared struggles.” He recalled the common colonial heritage, the French language, belonging to, Organisation internationale de la Francophonie and the commitment to, the Non-Aligned Movement and the G77.
A singular aspect of this relationship is the presence in Senegal of thousands of people of Vietnamese descent, a testimony of “profound solidarity between our peoples”.
According to the President of the Senegalese National Assembly, the visit of the Vietnamese delegation illustrates a “new vitality of our parliamentary diplomacy”. Thus, the parliaments of both countries are called upon to play a strategic role in promoting an environment conducive to investment and supporting the necessary reforms
