The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani announced on the occasion of the inauguration of the Transcao PK 24 industrial complex, that Côte d'Ivoire is now the world's leading cocoa grinder, ahead of the Netherlands.

Ivory Coast is taking a major step forward in its policy of processing its raw materials locally. According to information, the country achieves 50% of its domestic production processed locally. According to the minister, “with around 750,000 tons of beans processed locally, Côte d'Ivoire now exceeds the Netherlands. Our annual crushing capacity is 1,065,000 tons.” This performance is part of the national strategy for the valorization of cocoa, aimed at reducing dependence on the export of raw beans and creating more added value locally. The minister also welcomed the establishment of a historic remunerative price of 2,200 FCFA/kg for the 2024-2025 intermediate season
