Spot prices for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Asia reached their highest level in four months this week due to concerns about supply disruptions due to the Israeli-Iranian conflict.

The average LNG price for delivery in August in North-East Asia was $14.00 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), up 11% from last week's $12.60/MMBtu and the highest level since February 21, industry sources estimated.

Chinese demand was around 12% lower in June compared to the same month last year, according to Alex Froley, senior LNG analyst at ICIS, a data intelligence firm.

So far, LNG cargoes have not experienced any significant disruptions. QatarEnergy asked tankers to stay away from the Strait of Hormuz until

the day before loading.

S&P Global Commodity Insights evaluated its daily reference price for the North West European LNG marker (NWM) for cargoes delivered in August, ex-ship (DES), at $13.739/MMBtu on June 19, at $13.739/MMBtu on June 19, a discount of $0.385/MMBtu compared to the July futures price on the TTF platform. This weekly increase of 15.5% was the highest in nearly four months
