In Malawi, an $80 million agreement was signed with China to build a state-of-the-art court complex in Lilongwe. This project, one of the most ambitious in the history of the country's legal sector, will house the Supreme Court, the High Court and the judicial seat. For the Minister of Justice, Titus Mvalo, it symbolizes “progress, justice and international solidarity”. China sees this project as a major contribution to the stability and institutional development of Malawi, within the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative.
