The oil and gas company ReconAfrica has published the results of the prospective oil and gas potential assessment activities carried out on its behalf by Netherland, Sewell & Associates (NSAI) and specifically covering the Damara Fold and Thrust Belt Area.

When it announced its oil exploration strategy in Namibia for 2024, ReconAfrica said that it had asked the NSAI firm for a comprehensive assessment of Damara Fold and Thrust Belt Area, the results of which were expected this month.

By integrating all the geological and geophysical data collected on the surface of this area of interest from the PEL 73 license located in the Kavango Basin, with the new geochemical analyses obtained on the site, NSAI confirms the existence of an active petroleum system in the region.
