The managing director of the British Export Credit Agency (UK Export Finance - UKEF) was on a mission to Cotonou to meet with key ministers to discuss the potential infusion of support supported by the United Kingdom.

During the discussions, a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Minister of Economy and Finance of Benin Romuald Wadagni. This partnership aims to facilitate access to British exports and expertise, such as significant projects such as the development of the Ministerial City of Cotonou and the construction of the Sokode-Benin road, with substantial funding from UKEF in excess of 170 million pounds sterling. As part of the Government of Benin's efforts to strengthen economic ties, this initiative marks an important step towards the implementation of the country's ambitious infrastructure and development plans
