Dans le but de définir a common strategy to achieve universal electricity coverage in the community by 2033, several experts in the energy sector the countries of UEMOA held a conclave on 11 March last

During the 4 days of discussions, experts in the energy sector from UEMOA countries aim to develop a joint action plan to mobilize resources for the financing of energy projects carried out by each of the Member States. At this meeting in Lomé, the energy projects of the States will be evaluated and the ways of mobilizing resources explored. A common approach for raising funds for projects will be developed, with the aim of making UEMOA a more energetically sovereign space. These countries will also focus on exploiting the potential of energy resources (solar, hydraulic, oil and mining) to achieve the goal of universal coverage by 2033
