This weekend, oil prices were little changed as investors digested hints of impending interest rate cuts in the United States and Europe.

American West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 0.28%, or 22 cents, to $79.15. Brent crude futures were up 0.24%, or 20 cents, to $83.16 per barrel at 10:18 GMT. WTI traded more than $1 more than the previous settlement at its intraday high earlier in the session. Lower interest rates could increase oil demand by stimulating economic growth.
