With the aim of building African Medical Center of Excellence (AMCE), a center for medical treatment and research, the pan-African multilateral development financial institution, Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), committed last Wednesday to invest $40 million in shares. The center will be based in Abuja, Nigeria

AFC's commitment to invest in the construction of AMCE is an important step in revolutionizing healthcare progress in West Africa. This health facility project will be implemented in four phases over a period of six years. Indeed, the AFC plans to intervene in the first phase, which involves the construction of the first specialized hospital. The installation will begin operations in the first quarter of 2025. AMCE is expected to provide care to over 350,000 patients in Nigeria and beyond in its first five years of operation
