The annual report published on Thursday by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization mentioned that Ivorian pineapple exports to the international market reached only 23,557 tons.

The pineapple industry had a difficult year in 2023, marking the end of the campaign on a negative note. The 23,557 tons obtained in 2023 represent a decrease of 27% compared to the previous campaign (32,403 tons) and a decrease of 22% compared to the five-year average (30,291 tons). According to the report, the average unit value of exports from Côte d'Ivoire to global markets fell to 460 dollars per ton between January and July 2023, marking a drop of 10% compared to the previous year.
