A risk-sharing agreement of 100 million euros was signed on January 25, 2024 in Casablanca between the African Development Bank (BAD) and Attijariwafa bank, the European subsidiary of the Attijariwafa bank group. The aim is to strengthen private sector financing and promote African trade.

The risk-sharing agreement will allow Attijariwafa bank to finance, on a larger scale, businesses in the health, agriculture and agri-food sectors, renewable energies, telecommunications and services sectors. This partnership will make it possible to diversify the production capacity of countries, strengthen their competitiveness, generate additional tax revenues and create new employment opportunities. The agreement is expected to catalyze nearly 500 million euros in trade for companies operating in more than twenty African countries
