The Nigerian Zenith Bank, listed on the Nigerian stock exchange, has begun the necessary procedures to obtain a license to operate from the French authority responsible for the licensing and supervision of banking institutions. The Nigerian businessman Jim Ovia, who founded this banking institution, has concluded a protocol with the French government in order to set up a subsidiary of this financial company in the country. According to Olivier Becht, Deputy Minister for Trade, Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad, through this new subsidiary, Zenith Bank will contribute to “boosting Franco-Nigerian relations, by allowing many French companies to invest in Nigeria and also several Nigerian companies to invest in France”.
