A clear majority of developing countries including 51 African states have adopted a new international tax treaty.

Developing countries, especially African countries, have just won a historic victory. Indeed, an international tax reform was adopted by 125 votes in favor, including China and Russia, as well as 51 of the 54 African member states of the United Nations (Mauritius, Somalia and São Tomé and Príncipe) did not vote. 48 countries, mostly developed, voted against the measure, including the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as all members of The European Union style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style”, "serif"">, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Japan, and South Korea.
