On Wednesday, July 05, 2023, the French Development Agency (AFD) represented by its Africa Department Director Christian Yoka signed two financing agreements in Paris for the Project to Support Development and Productive Agricultural Investments (PADIAP). These agreements were signed for the benefit of Benin.

The Beninese Minister of Economy and Finance, Romuald Wadagni, signed the financing agreements in collaboration with AFD, represented by its Africa Department Director. On Minister Wadagni's Twitter account, he announced that he was happy to have signed the agreements for the PADIAP project. Indeed, this project has a total financing of 29.3 million euros (19.2 billion FCFA) by AFD. It is supposed to ensure a significant development of agricultural infrastructure in various sectors, such as maize, rice and soybeans

According to the Minister, the Project aims at the development of agricultural and pastoral areas, as well as the technical supervision of farmers.
