The African Business Lawyers Club was created in May 2011 as a law association of 1901. It brings together young legal professionals who want to promote Africa to interested investors and practitioners. The 11th edition of their annual conference, held on Friday, October 7, 2022, at the headquarters of MEDEF International, allowed major players in the fintech sector to discuss the economic growth potential that fintechs offer, and also the obstacles to development that they place. face on the African continent.

The 2022 edition of the annual conference was placed on the theme “Fintechs in Africa: growth catalysts”, which allowed actors to focus on the challenges ; challenges faced by investors, financial institutions, universities, and start-up incubators & accelerators. Two round tables were on the menu on the themes “Fintechs, drivers for SME growth: current status and dynamics” and “African fintech ecosystems: the future of regulation”. This allowed an exchange between emerging African fintech start-ups and traditional players to exchange. They therefore worked on the problem of applicable regulations and the standardization of the African regulatory framework, which is still uncertain and varied.
