The Togolese Revenue Office (OTR) recalled in a tweet last weekend that Motor Vehicle Tax (TVM) payment checks will start on April 1, 2023 in Togo.

The Motor Vehicle Tax (TVM) should be paid no later than 31 March 2023 by all users of motor vehicles registered in Togo except vehicles used for the transport of persons and the transport of goods and others. Vehicles used by the diplomatic or consular forces, the Armed Forces, the Gendarmerie, the Police and firefighters as well as agricultural equipment and those intended for the transport of patients are also exempt from payment of this tax. In reality, this tax is intended for the maintenance and reconstruction of roads.
