In the Democratic Republic of Congo, diamond production is not weakening. Indeed, the Central Bank of Congo (BCC) published figures last week that show more than 17.7 million carats during 2022, compared to 12.179 million in 2021, an increase of 45% over one year. Through its data, it was noted that the industrial sector is following the trend with 7.235 million carats produced, after 4.525 million the previous year. While the artisanal sector alone represents the production of 10.507 million carats of diamonds compared to 7.654 million carats in 2021.
