At the end of its simultaneous auction equivalent treasury bills with a duration of 91 days and similar bonds of the 3, 5 and 7-year treasure organized in partnership with UMOA-Titres, held on 8 January 2026, the State of Benin obtained the sum of 60 billion FCFA from investors in the UEMOA financial market.

Benin wants to meet financing needs of its 2026 budget. For the needs of the operation, the Public Treasury Beninese has put the sum of 60 billion CFA francs up for auction. Les global submissions from investors amounted to 78.244 billion FCFA. This corresponds to a coverage rate for the amount put up for auction of 130.41%.

The amount of tenders selected is 60 billion FCFA and that rejected at 18.244 billion FCFA. This gives an absorption rate of 76.68%.

Investors whose bids have been selected will end up with a weighted average return of 5.01% for bonds, 6.34% for bonds lasting 3 years, 6.38% for those of 5 years and 6.87% for those of 7 years.

The issuer intends to repay the vouchers on the first business day following the date with an expiry date of 9 April 2026. On the other hand, interest payments will be made in advance and deducted from the nominal value of these vouchers.

The issuer also intends to repay the principal of the bonds on the first day. worked according to the due date set on January 9, 2029 for those of 3 years, January 9, 2031 for those aged 5 and on January 9, 2033 for those aged 7. As for interest, they will be paid per year based on a rate of 5.70% for titles with a term of 3 years, 5.90% for those of 5 years and 6% for those of 7 years, starting at the end of the first year.
