On the occasion, about sixty customs and tax executives from the countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) participated in the exchanges.
The five-day meeting focused on "risk-based tax auditing in the mining sector using computer-aided audit techniques (TAAO)". This work will ultimately boost the mobilization of resources in the mining sector, which contributed to nearly 1/4 of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the States of the sub-region.
