In order to improve the performance of rice farmers, the company Le Riz du Niger (RINI) has begun experimenting on sample rice plots to find a has been a fertilizer substitute for two months.

Fertilizer has become increasingly rare and expensive for rice farmers. Indeed, the company Le Riz du Niger considered it useful to initiate the process of experimenting with control rice plots in order to find a product to replace fertilizer. This process was followed by the consultant Salou Moussa, soil engineer.

This is how the national rice development strategy was launched. According to the managing director of RINI, Seydou Asman, this strategy aims to “see RINI become a fertilizer and energy producer in the near future in order to meet the demands of producers and also reduce the cost of energy for citizens.”
