The development and asphalt of the Alembé road— Lopé — Carrefour Leroy Mykouyi is a major infrastructure project for province of Ogooué-Ivindo and for national mobility, according to a Communication from the Ivorian Pan-African Group based in Abidjan. This project structurant involves the construction of 306 km of new roads, aimed at to sustainably open up a strategic area of the country and to improve conditions of movement, access to essential services and development economic situation in the territories concerned.

The Alembé — Lopé axis — Carrefour Leroy Mykouyi is an essential corridor for continuity territorial and the fluidity of trade between the center-south and the north-east of Gabon. Its modernization will significantly reduce travel times, to secure travel and to support the development of activities agricultural, forestry and commercial activities in the region.
