The spot gold price fell by 0.1% at $4,995.91 per ounce at 01:49 GMT.

American gold futures for deliveries in April were up 0.3% to $5,013.60.

The dollar was on the verge of making his best weekly performance since October, supported by a series of data better-than-expected economic prospects, more restrictive prospects for Federal Reserve and by the tensions between the United States and Iran who kept markets under pressure.

The cash price has slightly fell by 0.1% to $78.29 per ounce.

The spot turntable fell slightly by 0.3% to $2,064.27 per ounce, while the palladium lost 0.5% to $1,677.19.
