The latest monthly gas data released by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission mention that Nigeria produced 2.71 trillion standard cubic feet of gas in 2025, exporting around 35% of total production.

The production figure in 2025 exceeded 2.5 trillion standard cubic feet recorded in 2024. According to Commission data Nigerian regulation of the oil sector, total gas production for 2025 was about 2.71 trillion standard cubic feet, of which 942.7 billions were exported, representing around 34.8% of production total.

Domestic gas sales during the year were are 780.6 billion standard cubic feet (scf), while 776.6 billions of scf were used for field operations.

In total, gas consumption reached 2.5 trillion standard cubic feet (SCF) in 2025, or a rate utilization rate of 92.4%.
