This increase follows a 2% decline recorded in the second quarter of the year. It is related to the lifting of mobility restrictions and the effects of public support policies put in place as part of the fight against Covid-19, notes the bank.
For the whole of 2020, the issuing institute indicates that the latest forecasts place the regional growth rate at 0.9%, against 5.6% in 2019. The IMF, more pessimistic, had placed it at 0.5% last October.
